to hate Donald Trump

ZeroHedge цитирует Op-Ed в WSJ:

This all leads to an important question—one that will be dismissed indignantly today, but not by historians in the long run: Is it possible to hate Donald Trump but not the average American?

How sharper than a serpent’s tooth
To hear your child make such a fuss.
It isn’t fair—it’s not the truth—
He’s fucked up, yes, but not by us.

Пшезьдзецкий конец

Подолгу зависая над этим замечательным романом, немногие знают, что польский драматург, писатель, сценарист и филантроп Пшезьдзецкий до сих пор жив, ему 91 год.

on Plomin's Blueprint

Families and schools are what we think of as “nurture” and one interpretation of Blueprint is to see it as a salvo in the ongoing nature-nurture debate—a devastating, war-winning salvo. But it doesn’t follow that Plomin thinks the environment, as distinct from nurture, has no effect on the way people turn out.

The environmental inputs that matter most, according to him, are what he calls our “non-shared” experiences—“unsystematic, idiosyncratic, or serendipitous events,” often mediated by our genetic predispositions. So when Plomin says genetics is by far the greatest systematic force in making us who we are, he isn’t saying the environment has no effect. It’s just that the environmental inputs that do have an impact are, for the most part, unsystematic.

homeopathy of racial identity

Elizabeth Warren Carries Native American DNA – She’s Running!

the best comment is by Chris:
The homeopathy of racial identity.

Also its amusing that people who believe race is a social construct and also believe that a DNA test can discern minuscule components of one’s biogeographical heritage (which it clearly can), and even more alarmingly think that such a tiny genetic component might have moral, practical or political significance.

Elizabeth Warren <0.1% native = native.

What Are We Like

What Are We Like? 10 Psychology Findings That Reveal The Worst Of Human Nature:

. We view minorities and the vulnerable as less than human
. We already experience schadenfreude at the age of four
. We believe in Karma – assuming that the downtrodden of the world must deserve their fate
. We are blinkered and dogmatic
. We would rather electrocute ourselves than spend time in our own thoughts
. We are vain and overconfident
. We are moral hypocrites
. We are all potential trolls
. We favour ineffective leaders with psychopathic traits
. We are sexually attracted to people with dark personality traits

replicated findings

Finding 7. Most measures of the “environment” show significant genetic influence

How can measures of the environment show genetic influence? The reason appears to be that such measures do not assess the environment independent of the person. As noted earlier, humans select, modify, and create environments correlated with their genetic behavioral propensities such as personality and psychopathology.

...

Finding 9. Most environmental effects are not shared by children growing up in the same family

It is reasonable to think that growing up in the same family makes brothers and sisters similar psychologically, which is what developmental theorists from Freud onwards have assumed. However, for most behavioral dimensions and disorders, it is genetics that accounts for similarity among siblings.

girl’s racist poem

Girl’s racist poem sparks row in southwestern Germany - это BBC, google возвращает первой строкой при поиске "Ida Marie Müller".
