This film often feels like a Tex-Mex mash-up of the Japanese master's great works "Late Spring" and "Tokyo Story." Eska's insights into changing times and family ties aren't as profound, but then few directors have ever been able to match Ozu in that department. - `August Evening' completes its world with fine acting
несомненно вторичный фильм. то есть автор старался, конечно, и не без таланта, но... если честно - можно было бы и не снимать.
